It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I’m progressing along in my PT on my shoulder. My corneal specialist is pleased with my progress on my eyes for the moment. It’s time to get back to working out again…at least to the extent my surgeon will release me to.
So…I decided to begin running.
I’ve never run before. Like…ever.
So why am I? For health…to lower my diabetes…but for a more important reason…water.
As most of you know, I was a World Vision Artist years ago. I have a passion for those who can’t help themselves with resources…when WE have plenty of them.
There are people who walk 6 kilometers each day to get dirty water to drink – because they have no clean water available anywhere.
So that’s why I’m running. I’m starting my journey with a 6K run with World Vision to raise money for CLEAN water on the 27th of April. Then, at the beginning of November, I’m going to run my first marathon. I’m dead serious.
This is the little girl I’m running for. Her name is Braima. I want HER to have a better life. Me? I just brushed my teeth. I thought about her as I was almost wasting water that her family walks miles to get brown purple water…the stuff we think is gross. That’s what she DRINKS. Would I dip my toothbrush in that? I’m so spoiled. So…I’m taking steps…so that she doesn’t have to.
If you’re interested in following my journey…follow this blog. Let’s do this together!
By the way, I would LOVE for you to help people like little Braima get clean water. For as little as $50…one person gets clean water. Would you consider clicking the link below and donating to my marathon run and help someone get clean water? Seriously…most of us will spend that on Starbucks coffee in a short amount of time.
I’d deeply appreciate it…but not as much as Braima.
