If Jesus led worship on Sunday morning, I wonder what His setlist would look like.

Would He open with something upbeat like “This Is the Day”? Or go straight for the heart with “Come to the Altar”? Would He strum a well-worn Martin acoustic or just speak—and creation itself would join the band?

Honestly, I think He’d be less concerned with keys, transitions, and click tracks… and more focused on the posture of the people.

We tend to obsess over the “set”—but Jesus? He’s after the soul.
He’s not impressed with our seamless transitions if we’re still carrying bitterness between team members. He’s not clapping for our vocal runs if we’re running from reconciliation.
He’d rather have off-key praise from a surrendered heart than a flawless arrangement from a divided one.

Here’s what I’m learning (and often re-learning):
True worship isn’t just the songs we sing. It’s the way we live.
It’s how we treat the sound guy when the mic cuts out.
It’s how we respond when we’re asked to step down, step up, or step aside.
It’s how we handle the weight of glory—and the weight of disappointment.

So maybe this Sunday, before we lead a single note, we ask:
“What would Jesus want from my heart more than my hands?”

And maybe, just maybe, we let that become the real setlist.
