God has never been looking for perfect people. He’s been looking for people willing to say yes.

If you’ve ever felt unqualified, overlooked, or like your past has disqualified you from being used by God, you’re not alone.

The Bible is filled with ordinary people who wondered the same thing.

Moses didn’t think he was a good speaker.

Peter often acted before he thought.

Thomas wrestled with doubt.

David was forgotten by his own family.

Paul carried the weight of a past he could never erase.

Yet these are the very people God used to change the world.

It’s easy to believe that God only works through the exceptionally gifted, the highly educated, or the people who seem to have it all together. But the gospel tells a different story. Again and again, Jesus chose ordinary people whose greatest qualification wasn’t talent. It was their willingness to follow Him.

That truth has encouraged me more times than I can count.

There are moments when I question whether I’m leading well enough, saying the right things, or making the impact I’d hoped for. In those moments, I’m reminded that Jesus never called people because they had everything figured out. He called them because they were willing to trust Him one step at a time.

The same invitation is extended to us today.

You don’t have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus.

You don’t have to become an expert before God can use you.

You don’t have to have a perfect story to make an eternal difference.

You simply need to keep saying “yes.”

Maybe your next step is opening your Bible again.

Maybe it’s praying honestly for the first time in a long while.

Maybe it’s forgiving someone.

Maybe it’s inviting a friend to church or serving someone in need.

Faith rarely grows through giant leaps. More often, it grows through faithful steps taken one day at a time.

So if you’ve been waiting until you feel “ready,” let this be your reminder:

God has always loved using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

And if you’re willing to trust Him today, He isn’t finished writing your story.
